We went for lunch today. We both got the lunch special 3 thin sliced pieces of catfish fries bread n gumbo. Plus an order of onion rings. Everything was pretty darn good except the fish didn't have much flavor and I asked for just a little rice in my gumbo yet still got a lot. Overall not impressed especially when I had to stand at the counter to read the menu like I was at a fast food restaurant to place my order. Not sure if I'll try them again. Maybe?

Surprised! I had the shrimpzilla po'boy and garlic fries. Most of the seafood is fried. No boiled shrimp or oysters etc. Hubby liked the gumbo. Kids loved the thin catfish. Was not heavy on the oil. Service was a bit slow but friendly service. Will come again.

Was here on a two week job. Ate here three times (so far)! Absolutely wonderful! Fries are incredible with deef fat fried and lightly covered with garlic sauce! Had crab/eggplant stack, grill shrimp po boy, Buffalo platter and catfish Lafitte. Could not ask for better! It was delicious! Only suggestions is have more beer on draft and hold some of the salt.

Beloved husband found this place on Yelp and since he had to come get me at New Orleans airport at dinnertime, he thought this place would be good to grab a bite. My burger was dry and overcooked clearly NOT fresh cooked and barely warm like it had been cooked the day before and stored, the bun was better than the burger and I don't eat bread. The burger was literally a hockey puck, microwaved, flavorless and I mean totally flavorless. The bacon and Swiss they put on it had also had no flavor whatsoever and weren't worth the upcharge for them. Beloved husband had the thin sliced catfish po'boy that looked like heavily breaded jerky with onion rings and he didn't finish either. He said the bread was good. That's it for his comments. Not glowing praise to say the least. The peach mango tea was excellent but overpriced ($2.50 for a glass of tea that costs 8 cents to make? Really??) and they had 3 draft selections at $5 a pop which is ridiculously overpriced in a bar without strippers and WAY overpriced for a restaurant that doesn't even have table service--you order at the counter and they bring it to you. The fries were the star of the meal--but how can you go wrong with fries doused in garlic butter? The whole dining experience was BARELY just OK but really overpriced and not worth it. I wouldn't cross the street to go back let alone drive all the way to NOLA for it. I've had better burgers at Wendy's but the fries kept this from being a more brutal review. It wasn't BAD and at half the price it would be worth visiting but they are charging premium prices for below average (and that's being kind) food with fast-food ambiance and service. The counter girl was very very nice (and the only thing this place has going for it other than tea and fries) but being treated to the relaxing sounds of the shouting of the kitchen staff carrying on and cutting up was annoying. I'm not interested in their sex life and whether or not: "...she be a ho'...." and I don't want to hear this carrying on at McDonald's let alone a place that's 5 times the price. The counter girl was clearly the only one who was earning her pay as she kept the dining area clean and never stopped working the whole time we were there (and the place was nearly empty at the height of the dinner hour). Save your money and eat at Wendy's for a better burger and the same kind of dining experience. It's the experience that you pay for, but the neither the experience here nor the food was worth the money for a self-service fast-food outing. Disappointing but not horrible and at half the price with a burger properly cooked would not have an empty dining area at dinner time. Food: Zero Stars Counter Girl: 3 stars Atmosphere: Zero stars Value: Zero stars, not worth the money or time to come here.

So sad. TO GO salads = WAY overpriced for what you get (aka small), missing ingredients, wilty lettuce and old chicken :( Our office LOVE salads, we order them everyday and are trying to find the perfect place- so the market's competitive for our business! IMPROVE YOUR SALADS PLEASE SO WE ORDER FROM YOU MORE! Thanks :D

EXCELLENT THIN FRIED CATFISH -- not greasy at all and breaded simply in seasoned corn meal. The one-handed grilled shrimp po boy in fresh baked bread was also wonderful. Not greasy and generous with the grilled shrimp makes this place a winner in our book.

That's right. 5 stars for New Orleans Hamfood and Seaburger. I've been to several different locations and always thought that it was somewhere between 'meh' and 'better than Chili's'. However, this location knocks it right out of the park. I go here probably about once a week and I've never been dissatisfied. The food comes out fast, I'm talking several minutes after you order fast and it's always piping hot and obviously just cooked. I don't even understand how they do it. The thin fried catfish at this place is better than Middendorf's. The thin fried catfish poboy with a little tartar and a little cocktail sauce is one of my top 5 poboys in the city. The service is excellent. Everyone there always seems like they are on top of their game. Everyone is always happy and smiling just because the sun rose that day. If you are ever in LaPlace for some reason, come here and prove me wrong. Just try to have a bad experience.

Food was horrible, shrimp poboy and the bread was hard as a rock! My co worker had a salad that was nasty.

I was visiting from Arizona and looking for some descent swamp food and happen to find New Orleans Hamburger and sea food. I tried the Alligator poppers and was impressed. The service was good and the resteraunt was clean. Not to bad for a small town!

I ordered the Cajun Burger and it was probably one of the best burgers I have ever eaten. Gal who took care of us was very friendly and helpful. She had one of those smiles that said "I really do enjoy this job"

I called around many restaurants in LaPlace looking for a certain salad. New Orleans Hamburger didn't have the salad on the menu BUT... they did modify one of their salads to give me what I was looking for. I've been here several other times and it's never disappointing.

The food is not bad, but it isn't great. For the price you pay, you will be disappointed. Everything is small portioned at restaurant dinner prices. I would never go back.

Do you want some food with your salt? How about some some big slabs of potato passed through some grease? How about an awesome sounding burger that disappoints you by tasting bland? Maybe even pay top dollar for a burger that comes to you mostly made, but you do the final assembly YOURSELF? Then come on down! To be fair, when they get it right this place rocks. The devil is in the details. Sometimes, the food comes out in perfect harmony. Other times, I am left mad feeling snowed, cheated and knowing I could have made a burger at least this good at home. But for lazy people in Laplace with limited options, it fills the carnavorous bellies of teenagers.

Their Carribean Jack burger doesn't measure up to the one served at the Veterans location. The bun is cold, they skimp on the toppings, makes for a dry burger. This has happened twice at this location, won't try for a third.Back to Veterans we go......

Wasn't to sure about the location, but after entering in the atmosphere was better than I thought. I ordered the oyster poorboy and there was more oysters on it than I expected. The oysters were fried just right. My wife had the veggie burger and it was awesome. I'm not a veggie person, but that burger i would eat. I would definitely go back there and maybe eat a veggie burger the nextime..
